Mounjaro KwikPen is approved to treat adults with type 2 diabetes and for weight management in adult patients with a BMI of 30kg/m² or more (obesity), as well as those with a BMI between 27-30kg/m² (overweight) who also have weight-related health problems such as prediabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol. The manufacturer of the Mounjaro KwikPen, Eli Lilly, states that the device is a disposable multi-use pen that's designed for just 4 fixed doses of 0.6ml. After administering 4 doses, the pen should be safely disposed of in a sharps bin.

The pen will be available in six dose strengths: 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 7.5 mg, 10 mg, 12.5 mg, and 15 mg, allowing healthcare professionals to personalise treatment plans. Eli Lilly and Company announced that Mounjaro KwikPen (tirzepatide) is now available across India in all doses.
